It makes me so happy to see my unique plush creations get adopted.Whether they are given as gifts or used to brighten up a special spot in someone’s home, I know they will be loved for years to come.
The establishment of my business, “Creations by JDB” came from reimagining fabrics.Materials speak to me and seem to beg for transformation into fun, huggable characters.A wool coat calls out to be made into a teddy bear.Upholstery fabric turns into monsters.Socks become rabbits.
My path to success began with sewing doll clothes at a very young age. I felt very at home in graduate school Art studios studying all types of fiber manipulation from weaving to sculpting. My style was, and continues to be, all about fun and color. After earning my MFA in Fiber Arts at the Savannah College of Art and Design, I worked in the theater making costumes. I spent years working at temporary jobs and participating in crafts shows. Now, as a small business owner, I am very appreciative of the support of friends, family and my own temporary employees.
The satisfaction and delight expressed to me by my customers and knowing my stuffed animals will be enjoyed by generations to come, are the reasons that I continue to pursue my dream.
